Our Story
How We Met
Our story began in first year university in Ottawa. From the moment we met, we became friends right off the bat. We helped each other with our courses, studying together and supporting one another through the challenges of university life.
As time went on, our friendship deepened into something more. What started as a strong friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship. We continued to support each other through school and celebrated graduating together.
Over the years, our families met and got to know each other, bringing our two worlds together. When we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, we asked for our parents' blessing before planning the proposal.
With their blessing, we began planning a special moment that would mark the beginning of our next chapter—a proposal in a city that had always held a special place in both of our hearts.
The Proposal
Hrithik took Tharaka on a week-long trip to New York City—a place they had both grown up seeing in shows and movies, and that had always held a special place in their hearts. They spent the week touring and sightseeing different parts of the city, creating memories together.
On Valentine's Day, Hrithik told Tharaka he had arranged for a photographer to do a photo shoot in Central Park. What she didn't know was that the photographer was in on the surprise. In the heart of Central Park, surrounded by the beauty of the city they both loved, Hrithik got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes!
That magical day in New York was captured beautifully by our photographer, preserving every emotion, every smile, and every tear of happiness. The photos remind us of the incredible journey that brought us from university friends to life partners, and the exciting adventure that lies ahead.
Now, as we prepare to celebrate our union with family and friends, we're filled with gratitude for everyone who has supported us along the way. From our university days to this moment, we've been blessed with amazing people in our lives. We can't wait to share our special day with all of you and begin this new chapter together.
